What to Expect
It is extremely important to remove all of the old siding system whenever possible to get a good look at the structure of the building. If there is any noticeable water damage, insect damage, or just plain poor design, these issues can be corrected once and for all. We take the extra time to make sure that everything behind your siding overlaps and flows properly so that no issue can ever develop again. We also strive to be just as competitive with our prices as we do our service. Every project gets the attention it deserves from the very first time we are out to the last time we clean up and leave.
Materials
Before we tear anything off, we need to know all of the details about what we're putting back on. We do not "push" a particular line of siding or any specific type of siding. Instead, our representatives will show you samples of the different styles and colors available here in Minnesota, and go over the pros and cons of each. If it is available, we can get it and we'll give you the best possible installation.
The most common type of siding in Minnesota is vinyl siding. Vinyl siding is economical, highly weather resistant, nearly maintenance free, and is available in a number of colors and styles. It is also available in a number of different thicknesses. The siding panels measure anywhere from .040" (forty thousandths of an inch), being a lower end panel, to .046" (forty six thousandths of an inch) being a high grade panel. Generally, any panel will work great as long as it's properly nailed in place. Here are a few general pictures of some different styles of vinyl siding and insulated vinyl siding available today:
The fine details of your siding will add character and beauty
There are many decorative options of siding that can be used to really dress up your home and show your individual character. Shakes, scallops, vertical siding, or simply angling the same vinyl siding used on the rest of the house, are all popular ways to add curb appeal when residing. All of the decorative vinyl siding styles are available in a number of colors to complement your new siding. Here are a couple of pictures showing some of the different combinations available:

Steel and aluminum are two more materials commonly used to make "maintenance free" siding. They both typically come in the same styles and colors as vinyl siding. Steel and aluminum are more expensive materials than vinyl; however, they possess a bit more strength and rigidity, adding durability.

Fiber cement siding is gaining a lot of popularity in this climate for its durability. Although fiber cement siding still needs to be painted, it is extremely resistant to rot and impact. Fiber cement comes in a variety of panel widths and styles also. It tends to cost more than vinyl siding, but will take quite a beating, although it's not recommended, from balls, kids or whatever life throws at it.
